The club are currently preparing for the new season which starts very shortly and we are pleased to say the pitches are looking better than they ever have and the new goals are up with new nets.  It always amazes me how well the club prepares for the new season and has such an enthusiastic group of people who help with all this.

For this season if you have any news or updates you would like posted on the site whether it be a special win or an outstanding display by a player then let us know so we can post the details up on this news page.  The easiest way of letting me know is by email through to tclegg@leightonunitedfc.com and I will post your news up for all to see.

The meeting was held on the 26th June at the Clubs ground.

A new idea for 2009 onwards is for each team to have and run  their own Footski team site.  This will enable individual teams to control news, results and post pictures  of their team without involving the Webmaster.

This is still in the planning stages but already the clubs Under 14 and Under 11b boys teams have been setup so go and look at Season 09-10 to view their details.  If you are a manager and would like your own Footski teamsite then you can create it yourself and send me the link or request the clubs Webmaster to do it.

To promote how well our girls section are doing we have created a new part of the site for their achievement details.  These can be viewed from the right side menu or by clicking this Leighton Girls link.

We hope to be able to promote how well our Ladies and Girls teams do this season through their own team sites and from the main Girls page.

Over the coming week the clubs website will be updated in preparation for the new season.  This will include new team pages that can be updated by each team.

This years presentation awards will take place on Saturday the 20th June 2009 down at the clubs ground.  All other dates over the summer can be found in the Dates for your Diaries page.

The club are pleased to announce we are up and running with our own Club Charity Donation Service.  Club Charity is a free Online Donation Service for clubs at the grass roots level.  Donors who wish to donate to the Club, may do so online here via this facility. 100% of all donation money received here online is passed to the club.

Gift Aid can also be added (reclaimed from the Inland Revenue) to donations from individuals who are UK taxpayers at the rate of 27% on all qualifying donations.

As teams look to catch up on games after the recent bad weather can all managers and parents be aware that games will be scheduled for evening Kick Offs.  A number of games are being scheduled for Wednesday evenings already and there are sure to be more in order to complete the season.

Well done to John Frame and the Under 15 team who yesterday (Sunday 22nd March) won the County Cup final on penalties 5-4.  A great Mothers day present for lads Mums this was by all accounts a very hard working display by the team to win this major trophy.
